Meeting the Mission: VBS Students Contribute to Global Barnyard (St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hooper)
This summer, vacation Bible schools all across the Synod are doing a variety of projects to help others. One example of this took place at the VBS held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hooper.
More than 40 children attended the VBS at St. Paul’s June 21-25. Throughout the week, the youth brought coin offerings for God’s Global Barnyard, contributing a total of $215 to be used to purchase a sheep, a goat and 40 chicks that will provide food and income for families in developing countries.
Churches sponsoring the Bible school were St. Paul’s Lutheran/Hooper, Elim Lutheran/Swaburg, First Congregational & United Church of Christ/Uehling, St. Paul’s Lutheran/Uehling and St. John’s Lutheran/County Line.

I remember as a youngster growing up in central Nebraska looking forward to the field trip that my class would get to take at the end of the school year.
Heading into the year-end field trip, everyone was excited because it meant a day away from the stress of the classroom (as if being a third grader was really all that stressful in the first place). But the field trip always turned into something more than that.
First Lutheran Church co-sponsored a boys soccer team in south Omaha this summer.
